Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Benning of 1103 White
Line, Ottawa, will celebrate their 25th wedding
anniversary April 24, 2001. They will host a
renewal of vows at 4 p.m. April 28, at St. Columba
Church, Ottawa, which will be followed by a famiIv
dinner at Woody's Steakhouse, Ottawa.
The former Katherine Turner and Joseph Benning
were married April 24, 1976, at Immaculate
Conception Church. Monsignor E. E. Higgins
officiated at the ceremony.
Attendants were Leanne (Sauers) Benedict,
Streator, Sue (Stockdell) Wille, Streator; Trisha
(Benning) Alexander, East Peoria, sister of the
groom; Karen (Turner) Elias, Normal, sister of
the bride; Doug Klein, Lakeworth, Fla.; Jeff
Kraft, Bettendorf, Iowa; Kevin Turner, Streator,
brother of the bride; Derek Benning, Peru, and
Matt Benning, Madison, Wis., both brothers of the
groom.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
C. Benning and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Behrens,
Streator, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Turner, Dana.
The couple are the parents of Jennifer (Mrs.
William) Lucas, Elgin, and Joseph D. Benning,
Ottawa.
Joe is the principal of St. Columba School,
Ottawa. Kathy is a Retention Market Specialist at
Reliable Corp.
