Mr. and Mrs. Gene Decker, 29481 N. 300 East
Road, Ancona, will celebrate their 63rd wedding
anniversary with a family picnic on June 23, 2001,
at the home of their son, Tom (Patricia) Decker.
The former Idelle Coe and Gene Decker were
married on June 25, 1938, in St. Charles, Mo., at
the home of the Rev. Jones who performed the
ceremony.
Attendants were George and Grace (Johnson)
Decker, of Lake, Miss., brother and sister-in-law of
the groom.
The couple are the parents of four children: the
late Dick Decker, Marilyn Decker of Ancona, the
late Jayne (Mrs. Louis) Zion of Ancona and Tom
(Patricia) Decker of Long Point. They have seven
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Idelle attended Ancona Grade School, Long Point
High School and received a degree in business
from Gallagher Business School in Kankakee.
Gene went to grade schools in Rutland and Toluca
and attended Long Point High School.
They both drove buses for Woodland School and
are retired from farming.
